How to Generate and Review Question Papers Using AI

Create draft questions from topic filters or a written prompt. Review the content, answer key and formatting before publishing to your students.

Creating a question paper involves more than typing. Educators need to choose appropriate topics, check answers and prepare a format their students can use. AI can assist with drafting, but subject expertise remains essential.

ThePrepLab offers two ways to draft new questions: structured filters and written prompts. Converting an existing PDF paper is a separate extraction workflow.

1. The Filter Method (Speed & Structure)

Select the subject, chapters, difficulty and question types to define a draft. Check the generated coverage against your syllabus rather than assuming the selected filters guarantee correctness.

Start with a small draft so your educator can review the output before generating a larger paper.

  • Select your target subject and chapter.
  • Choose the difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard).
  • Set the total number of questions.
  • Click Generate. Review the generated draft against your intended topic balance.

2. The Raw Query Method (Ultimate Control)

Write a prompt describing the exam, topics, question count, difficulty and preferred format. This generates new draft content; it is not the same as extracting questions from an uploaded PDF.

Need a highly specialized test for a top-tier batch? Talk to our AI exactly like you would talk to a teaching assistant.

> "Generate a 15-question chemistry quiz focusing purely on organic reaction mechanisms for NEET preparation."

This is an illustrative prompt, not a verified output example. Check that the resulting questions fit the requested syllabus and difficulty, and independently verify each answer and solution.

3. Smooth App Publishing

After educator approval, configure your test settings and student access. Preview the assessment on the supported devices in your package before releasing it.

Check question wording, answer keys, marking rules, equations, diagrams and solution visibility. Correct any issues before publication. AI output and source extraction can contain errors; app availability and usage limits depend on your agreed package.
